The San Marcos Community

The vibrant and growing city of San Marcos is the home of Texas State University. Every year, our chapter puts hundreds of hours into community service to uphold and maintain the beautiful area which we reside in. We have held multiple cleanups for large areas of downtown and local parks, organized a canned food drive in which we amassed over 1,000 pounds, aided the university’s president in hosting a charity fundraising event, helped assist and spend time with the elderly, and lended a hand to the school in running various events, among other things.

In addition, we host a week of fundraising each spring for the San Marcos Fire Department, which alone responds to hundreds of fires each year but often suffers from considerable funding and equipment shortages. We have also begun to host additional philanthropy events for various other charitable causes, such as a youth rehabilitation center. This year, we were able to raise just over $13,500 in total and hope to continue amplifying our support and service to our community.

Texas State University

As Texas State approaches the status of a tier 1 university, Greek life on campus must expand with it. Our chapter has assisted various individuals and departments throughout the school with a wide range of events and tasks. Thanks to our initiative, community service, scholarship, and aid to the school, we have received praise and additional benefits from not only the IFC community, but the university itself.

As we increase the size of our chapter the level of support we are able to offer will surge. As PIKEs, it is our duty to uphold our community and lead by example, and taking this next step in our growth will allow us to continue to do so. With the construction of this house and the opportunities it will afford us, we can help bring a positive image to the university and change its culture forever.

Each engraved brick will be a permanent part of the house grounds, serving as a symbol of unity, pride, and support—not only for PIKE, but for Texas State University and the wider San Marcos community as a whole.

Our four acre property on Post Rd. represents a new era for our fraternity—a space where lifelong bonds will be forged and future leaders will rise. The brotherhood offered by our chapter and support we have between our members is unlike any other. We are passionate, innovative, and ready for the opportunity to become a pillar of our community that will make history at this campus.
